Fees & Rebates
All Psychology services are exempt from GST. Fees for a standard session depend upon the type of service provided and the clinician’s experience. Details of our fees can be obtained by contacting our front desk team.
Psychology South is not a bulk bill practice. Your doctor will be able to advise you of available low or no-cost options in your area.
If you have been referred by your GP, Psychiatrist, or Paediatrician, and have a Mental Health Care Plan, you will have access to Medicare rebates for sessions attended. The rebate amount you will receive from Medicare changes slightly each financial year and is dependent on the type of clinician you are seeing, so feel free to ask our friendly front desk team for current rates.
In regards to the cost of Educational/Developmental Assessments, please contact us for a quote, as the fees differ according to the needs of the individual and the type of assessment required. Please note Medicare does not cover this type of assessment. However, you may be able to receive a rebate from your private health insurance.
Payments can be made as follows:
- EFTPOS (Cheque, Savings, or Credit)
- Cash (however Psychology South does not keep cash on the premise and therefore cannot make change, so exact cash amounts are preferred)
- Via Work Cover, MAIB, NDIS and other third parties with prior arrangement
Psychology South does not have a Hicaps machine. Full payment of session costs will need to be made at the end of each session. You will be provided with a receipt, which you can use to claim on your private health insurance. Any rebate for your Health Fund will be subject to your personal cover.
Late cancellations can drastically impact the effectiveness and viability of psychology practice. They also impact appointment opportunities for other clients. To help us ensure that we are able to provide quality and timely psychological care for all of our clients, Psychology South has a strict cancellation policy.
If you need to cancel or reschedule your appointment, we require you to provide at least 48 hours notice to avoid the cancellation fee. It is very important to remember that the medicare rebate is not available for cancelled sessions.
